And you just have to tell them look , mom dad . . . im gay . . . i like men , and honestly its not as bad as me being a serial killer . . so either accept me for who i am , or hate me for it . . either way im still gonna be gay
I have a friend that is gay, and he hid it from his parents for a while, then he just finally came out and things are so much better now. Don't look at the negatives, look at the positives, and let them know that just because you're gay, you don't want it to affect your relationship with them, you're their kid they shouldn't have a problem with it after a bit of getting used to.
If I could do it again, I would write a letter. Parents take it the hardest since their generation was a lot different. If you write them a letter, it will give them time to be shocked, think about it clearly, then discuss it with you after the initial shock.
