Marriage over..

So my best friends marriage is over. They both have come to that understanding. She has 5 children and 3 that live with her and she is not financially able to move out yet. They live in a 2 bedroom apartment and she cleans all day and he does not help her at all with anything. He has applied with Match .com and she is fine with that but it's getting harder to live with him because of him being vocally abusive and he keeps pushing her buttons because he know she has no place to go. He won't help clean the apartment because he knows the maintenance man is suppose to come and fix their ac and he knows that it's so hot she is miserable. He cares nothing about the kids it's just her that he wants miserable. Any advice would help.
