Best time to sell a house?

We live in Dublin and would like to move to the West of Ireland. Our property is worth far less since the recession, and we don't know if we should wait another year to sell it or are things just going to get worse... Anyone here in the know or the property business have any insight into if and when we should sell?

We are in the same situation. Actually I totally agree with you, but we do like our house. I believe we have now finally decided we have no choice but to either rent the house and move or sell. Not the right time to sell. Pity.

The question to sell your house is a tricky one! I will make an attempt to convey my experience. I to have been in your position, and the best advise would be to really look at it from financial position and not emotional. Look five years into the future and access how much interest you will pay and the recovery of your equity and base the decision on economics. Don't use false hope in thinking the market will recover in five years and if your truthful compare the answer will be easy! Good Luck.
