8 yr old son vs. mom's partner of 9 months

been dating this wonderful man for a while and my children never had a problem with him. the past few months, my 8 yr old son has kicked him in the knee once and when play wrestling, deliberately hurt his face. i don't know what to do.

my kid's father has been in and out of the picture since he was one yrs old, has never been faithful, is a liar to EVERYONE, and i want nothing to do with him. my sweetheart is a faithful family man, and has been nothing but good to my children and i since day one.

i don't want to lose him, but not sure if he is willing to put up with my son's acting out at him. i understand if he can't deal with it, and there is nothing i can do to change my son's anger at his father not being here.

any suggestions?

Discipline your child. Thats no way to treat anyone. regardless of who left you or what pain you feel.

the only thing i found that works is that he must try to bond with the kid
spend time with him take him out to do things
and this might sound bad but you be the bad guy and discipline the kid and then let him see your man talk into letting him get away with a few things then in the childs eyes he wont be so bad and after a while he will accept him
