OK so I really love singing and I want to major in music in college. I am a Junior and I've been in choir since last year and I really loved it at first but then my teacher started to become a prick. I am also really involved with band and I love being in that class more than choir, but since I loved singing and am also am involved with Jazz band after school I figured I could just do it then. This year, one of my honors classes got cancelled and I had to reschedule it, so I had intended to drop chamber because it conflicted. I decided I missed it a lot so I changed my schedule and took a 300 class so I could fit it in. When I gave him my add-drop slip the director said to me "It's a good thing you came back, because if you hadn't you wouldn't have been singing with me senior year." I tried to explain that it was an academic honors class, but he is unreasonable when it comes to his choir. On top of other things he did last year that ticked me off, this just made me extremely mad and was like a slap in the face since I was sacrificing a lot to take this class. I talked to my guidance counselor immediately after and was going to just change my schedule to band instead but she told me to sleep on it since I really loved singing. My parents seemed to think I should just let it go and stay in the class, and I was afraid I would change my mind and want to sing next year and he wouldn't let me because he'd hold it against me from this year. Since I couldn't decide I ended up staying. I have a week to drop it but it will be hard since I've already been in the class and am starting to get attached to the music. On the other hand, I am giving up band class, which I really love too, by staying. Should I drop this class?
